Over one million Rohingya people of Rakhine province, Myanmar, live in refugee camps in Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world. They were forced there by a land-grabbing terror campaign by the military government nearly 10 years ago. Those who remain are being terrorized for their land by the Arakan Army (AA) which is fighting an uncivil war  against that same military government but sharing the same ethno-nationalist ideology (nominally Buddhist). Indeed there was no respite for the rice-farming Rohingya even when there was a brief period of democratic rule under Nobel Peace Prize winner  Aung San Sub Kyie. The AA are proving more systematic in the style of the Israelis in grabbing land while destroying all signs of the Rohingya people, their culture and history to which they have added slave labour for those who dare to remain.

For the past three years, not content with smashing up Gaza, Israel has systematically and violently erased life from southern Lebanon. It has transformed it from small-scale and subsistence farms of tobacco, olives, and goats to a landscape set ablaze by phosphorous munitions, littered with unexploded shells, and poisoned by the pesticide “glysophate”. In a region where approximately seventy percent of families rely on farming, Israel has used airstrikes, shelling, and  bulldozers to destroy around  of the country’s cultivated land, burning olive groves to ash, slaughtering flocks of livestock, and flattening entire villages. , Israel has long had a policy, , of attacking those who resist occupation by refusing to leave. Because of that, farmers, beekeepers and shepherds  suffered as Israel destroys their livelihoods and land, but have been marked as a threat because of their very connection to it in the first place., while Israel boasts of being an “oasis in the desert”.

The Clarion Clipperton zone is an area of the Pacific; lying between Hawaii and Mexico whose sea floor is full of billions of nuggets of cobalt, copper and nickel. Though the area is governed by the United Nations affiliated International Seabed Authority, the present USA Administration is dishing out licences to explore and extract from the Zone, such is the ‘scramble’ for such resources. These are being taken by dubious subsidiaries equally tenuous. If there are to be profits it is said they are more likely to go to the sectors which produce the tools and equipment for the operation. Meanwhile any authority the UN might have is routinely undermined

Adani Power, a component of the Indian Adani oligopoly has begun construction of a coal-based thermal power plant in Assam’s Dhubri district on land where the state government reportedly demolished the homes of more than 1,400 Bengali-origin Muslim families in July 2025. The evictions allegedly displaced around 10,000 people, many of whom had lived there for three to four decades. in its environmental clearance application, the company  stated that there were no habitations at the project site and therefore no rehabilitation or resettlement requirements. Affected residents dispute this, alleging that around 450 hectares of privately owned land with formal titles were also taken, with around half of titled landowners yet to receive compensation. The evictions disproportionately affected Bengali-speaking Muslim communities and form part of a wider pattern of eviction drives in Assam since 2016.  At least eight Muslims have been killed during eviction operations since then.
